The Corporation
I love business! This movie shares what we all must do to be a contribution rather than a parasitic blight on humanity. Enjoy.

Can I Can?!
Yes, it's a beautiful life. I was reminded last night as I watched an amazing video of Dick and Rich Hoyt. What touched me, I think, is the deep respect and love this father has for his son. The commitment this man has to offer an amazing experience for his son. Really, I'm not sure what I feel. What I do know is that I haven't cried like that for a long time. I've watched the video now 6 times and I cry more deeply each time.
Maybe it's the fact that I know that I fall short as a father. I say I do my best. "I work so my kids can have more than I had" type stuff. Maybe it's the compassion. Or, maybe it's just the pure sweetness of one human being showing kindness to another. I'm not sure.
What I am sure about is that watching the video has touched me on a deep level. It has reminded me that I CAN be better than I currently am. It sets the bar for me as a man. As a father. As a fellow human being. It makes me want to be.........better.
For that, I am grateful.
Have a look. See what comes up for you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRHxHapwirw

Why am I doing this?
I get asked why I am building a network marketing business A LOT less these days than I used to. The reason fewer people ask is because there are not near as many jobs out there today as there were 2-3 years ago. Fewer jobs (by far) http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm and people are beginning to realize that network marketing is an amazing way to be a business owner; take advantage of the tax benefits of a business owner, and get started for under a thousand bucks (usually).
It's an amazing way to avoid being a statistic in business and in life.
Reality Check (read this twice)
Only 5 % of todays 65 year olds are what is considered 'financially independent', earning 36k per year. That........is not good.
Only 1 % of todays 65 year olds are wealthy. That number is skewed by the mega rich, but that number is around 109k per year = wealthy.
74% of the 1% who are wealthy are BUSINESS OWNERS AND REAL ESTATE INVESTORS. And if they didn't earn it in real estate, they hold there money there because of the tax advantages.
The Problem
Typical business isn't cheap. There are business plans, 5k was my cheapest. Attorney fees. Accounting fees. Raising the money to start which could be anywhere from 1 dollar to a million depending on the business (which by the way entails getting on the phone). And then there is employees, insurance, on and on and on and.......you get the point.
A Great Solution

I won't even go into the 15 trillion in retirement and equity that vaporized in the past 36 months.
The point is, RIGHT NOW will never happen again. We are standing in front of the biggest transition the planet has ever seen. We are taking action, right now!
Hope
More wealth was created during the great depression than any other time in history by men and women who took action in trend setting industries. They changed their lives and the lives of their children and grandchildren. Now is the most amazing time to be alive. All we have to do is realize that and take action.
Well, there is a ton of info. in this email. Come back to it often and click the links. Watch the videos. Study and know the trends. Take action!
The kids are back in school soon. The vacations are pretty much over and the hottest time in the network marketing industry is just a couple weeks away. Sept. 15--Dec. 1st is the golden time.
You will see many people on this team (hopefully you), creating life changing income in the coming months. Be watching for future emails for meeting, training and call schedules. Log into your back office to register for the big event coming up this thursday.
And just for you I've included a link to your theme song. Whether you like country tunes or not, this song best describes YOU, ME and what it means to be an entrepreneur. Free, hard working folks, 'changing our stars'!! Cheers to ya!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Si1a4dz42tk

The hard facts of a soft underbelly
It was there, and then it was gone! I could be talking about the U.S. citizens retirement accounts or the jobs people once had, but, I'm talking about a critical piece of news recently published that contains some seriously, well, serious information about Americans future. It didn't last long. Replaced by a piece about how Papa Johns founder buys back his 1971 Camaro. Aaahh, aint that just nifty? Now THAT'S important stuff!!! Please, give me a second while I wipe the bile and breakfast from my laptop keys.
Of course, when the media makes the supper we get spooned whatever soup they concoct. The meat and potatos swapped quickly for dessert, making sure the morsels don't touch. More on that in a later post. Til then, check out the amazing piece of work foretelling our great countries near future.

Regardless of who you are or what you do to create a living, you should know what's coming. So, please, read the press release and then read on.
Ok, the first paragraph says it all. It says that in the next 10 years our national debt (what is owed on borrowed money) will equal 75% of our GDP (gross domestic product) GDP is what we as Americans produce and generate cashflow with. Auto makers, steel industries, oil etc. It is the 'business' of America. Other sources say it will be 100% of GDP. What that means is that the United States of America will be insolvent http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insolvency
We are headed for change of 'epic, OLD TESTAMENT, biblical proportions'. Whether we like it or not, it is here.
Bill Gross of PIMCO http://www.pimco.com/TopNav/Home/Default.htm a top tier investment and management firm says VERY clearly that it will be absolutely necessary for ALL Americans to become investors from now on in order to just keep up with a decent standard of living.
I was speaking with a guy I was introduced to who left Russia 4 years ago amidst war to start over here in the U.S. Nick is his name and he owns an 'in house' finance, used car lot and is doing extremely well. I asked him the difference between Americans and Russians and how he has become so successful in just 4 years. His words were chilling. He said the people who 'bop' into his lot with i-pods and flip flops and financing (big hint there) there vehicles at high rates, WOULD BE HOMELESS IN HIS COUNTRY!! I think we all get it that Americans have lost touch with reality and how good we have had it here as U.S. citizens. It's time to get serious about a serious situation.
How is it that the government via the federal reserve, figures that pumping trillions (not billions folks) of 'paper' backed by nothing.......nothing, is going to help. WE as tax payers will begin to feel the payback as, in time, inflation begins to creep up. It HAS to. Oil projected to hit AT LEAST 140 bucks a barrel and more likely to hit 200 a barrel in the next 36 months. What will that look like at the pump? 5 dollar a gallon fuel, that's what it will look like. Big trucks that haul cheese, bread, FOOD will be paying that price as well and passing that cost on to us with 4 dollar per gallon milk. Everything will cost more.
So, with jobs being lost, no new jobs in the forseeable future and the cost of goods and services going up and wages staying the same...........you get the point.

I'm sharing this because I know that ALL OF US are motivated by our NEED to avoid pain and seek pleasure. That's marketing 101. Rather than hype you up, push on your pain and offer coffee as the solution, I'd rather give you some perspective. Perspective that will allow each one of us to set strong intentions and goals to transform our lives. Out of faith and action instead of operating out of fear (pain).
I am so optimistic about the GOOD and opportunity in front of all of us. It is huge. But only if you are looking.
Network Marketing, is here and will continue to grow bigger and bigger and bigger and will be a huge part of our economy. Get it, get good and get going. President Clinton endorses Network Marketing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_eGbfTPbGY&feature=related
I, along with a few of my oldest and dearest and a few new and inspired friends and partners have been masterminding for the past couple of months on how we can best serve the need in our country, our friends lives and our own. We have some wonderful tools, tips, trainings and inspirations to share with you. In September we will begin a schedule of Cafe Parties, trainings and calls that everyone can use to build their business'.
Here are a few:
Marc Warnke, author of the best selling book ONO http://www.onobook.com/ is inspired to speak to our Gano teams because he is so inspired by what he sees all of us creating. Marc is in the top 3 of trainers who coach individuals to be stellar sales people in the fair and trade show industry. The same industry that Zig Ziglar began his career in. To qualify, Marc had a 60-70% closing ratio in an industry where 15% is considered 'rock star'.
Ted Fitzgerald has locked arms with the top lead producer in the internet world. We, as a team have access to these leads FOR FREE. These are people who have been filtered and are looking for a home based business. Ted has earned multiple millions in this industry since '03.
Phone rooms and coaching. There are currently 2 fully operational phone/training centers in our organization. One in Anaheim and one in Tennessee. If you are receiving this email then you have a full access pass to these resources for free. Simply get to one of these centers and work side by side with Ted Fitzgerald, Brandon Lawhorne, Jaime Lawhorne, Joshwa Wolf and of course Srg. Kevin Tornai. Boise phone center will be up and running within the next 30 days!!!!
The point is that other companies, downlines, groups don't have what we have. And they still make money. Imagine what is happening and can happen in our/your group with these resources.
What I love about this amazing team is that most of us came from mediocre financial backgrounds, blue collar backgrounds and have created everything we have. Maybe you can relate. As the old commercial said, 'we earned it.' What I know is that all of us in this company with heart and drive can absolutely create a legacy for our children and live brilliant, contributive lives full on.
THIS is the best year ever. Thank you for being a part of it with me. Cheers to YOU!!!

THESE, are the days!!
Well, it's Sunday. A time to spend with those we love and reflect on the week. I've been doing a lot of work with James Ray and really focused in on his 'be, do, have.' The point he makes and what I subscribe to is that NOW is the only thing that truly has power and that we must be before we can have. His idea that we make money because we are successful and not the other way around, really strikes a nerve with me. The truth is, for the past couple of years I really feel successful, and I am. I have great relationships, a great spiritual connection. My focus on my health has given me more energy than I've had in years.
Now we have the great blessing to have a business which promises to bring wealth into my life and those around me. But it was only when I truly felt successful that the money came into my life. My net worth is not my self worth.
As I was cleaning my house this afternoon and reminesced about my week, friends and family I listened to one of my favorite songs by Van Morrison. These Are The Days, without a doubt, covers what James Ray is talking about. Now is all that is real. I've copied the lyrics into this posting so you can see what I'm talking about. I've posted a link to a cool new site where you can download songs legally, for free to get the song. I hope you enjoy it as much as me, my kids and family do. Hopefully you will drop your inhibitions and dance with whoever is in your office or kitchen and remember, these are the days. Cheers to you.
These are the days of the endless summer
These are the days, the time is now
There is no past, there's only future
There's only here, there's only now
Oh your smiling face, your gracious presence
The fires of spring are kindling bright
Oh the radiant heart and the song of glory
Crying freedom in the night
These are the days by the sparkling river
His timely grace and our treasured find
This is the love of the one magician
Turned the water into wine
These are days of the endless dancing and the
Long walks on the summer night
These are the days of the true romancing
When I'm holding you oh, so tight
These are the days by the sparkling river
His timely grace and our treasured find
This is the love of the one great magician
Turned water into wine
These are the days now that we must savour
And we must enjoy as we can
These are the days that will last forever
You've got to hold them in your heart. --Van Morrison

Give it up for gratitude
I thought I'd share a little something I learned a few years ago that has made a positive impact in my life. Now seems like a good time since more than a few folks I have run into lately seem to be a little stressed out. It's the simplest, fastest way I personally have found, to lift a mood from negative to positive. The ol' 'turn the frown upside down' trick. And, it really works.
The psychology behind it says that it's impossible to feel bad when in a state of gratitude. Below is an excerpt I grabbed from a study done by Michael McCullugh, Professor of Psychology at Southern Methodist University.
*The results of the study indicated that daily gratitude exercises resulted in higher reported levels of alertness, enthusiasm, determination, optimism and energy. Additionally, the gratitude group experienced less depression and stress, was more likely to help others, exercised more regularly and made more progress toward personal goals. According to the findings, people who feel grateful are also more likely to feel loved. McCollough and Emmons also noted that gratitude encouraged a positive cycle of reciprocal kindness among people since one act of gratitude encourages another.
You can check it out yourself. Here are some effective ways to build gratitude from the Sedona site:
1. Keep a gratitude journal that lists everything you’re thankful for.
2. Write a thank you note to a parent, a teacher, a mentor or anyone else in your life who deserves a pat on the back.
3. Begin and end each day by thinking of five things you’re grateful for.
4. Tell your significant other how much you appreciate him or her on a regular basis.
5. When things go your way, smile and be thankful for them.
That's it! It really is that simple. If I find myself in a funky mood and want to change it, I'll get out a white piece of paper, grab a pen with blue ink, and start writing all that I'm grateful for.
I'm so grateful for my awesome kids.
I'm so happy and grateful now that I'm in great health.
I'm so happy and grateful now that my bills are paid.
I'm so happy and grateful now that I have awesome relationships.
etc.
It rarely takes more than writing 5 or 6 things I'm grateful for before my mood shifts and I start to feel good. Being a bit obsessive I'll typically write half a page to a page for good measure.
Try writing a list first thing in the morning and again before you go to sleep for one week and see what happens.

Home business' in todays market
In earlier posts I wrote about trends and how the movement of money from one sector to another changes the financial landscape and profitability for people. People who are educated and understand how to read trends typically fare far better financially than those who are not.
Every industry has it's ups and downs. As our economy goes through its transitions, different business models with different value propositions have different results. One that I'm very familiar with is the construction industry.
Starting around 2002, major business magazines started ranking Boise as a hot spot to live and do business. Inc.com, Forbes, Money, ranked Boise in the top ten for consecutive years. Folks who were looking for a more relaxed, outdoorsy type of lifestyle, loaded up their truck and they moved to Boise. Idaho that is! And they had an investor under each arm. And I don't blame them. Many of our new Idahoans left high priced, overpopulated areas, bringing some serious equity with them. Many of the clients I worked for paid cash for their residence and bought recreation property to boot. By making the move to Boise they moved lightyears ahead financially.
My small business boomed. I couldn't keep up with the work. People had expendable cash and they treated themselves and their homes to makeovers. Construction across the board was a booming industry. It was easy to throw your dog and some tools in the back of your truck and be in business, AND make money. Not so much today. Many folks who broke into their own small business' are now selling their equipment, honing their resume's and considering going back to school to get a 'good job.'
Another sector that grows and peaks in times of economic downturn is the home based business industry. Most people look at all their options when they have to pull in their belt and starting and operating a business from home appeals to alot of people. Having had moderate success in the home business arena in the past, my number is on many peoples list as a guy to call. My phone has been ringing off the hook lately with people on the other end inviting me to check out their latest and greatest product and company. Juices, electricity, phone service. Weight loss, wellness, travel. You name it, I've heard about it.
Many of these companies and products are great. No doubt about it. I buy these products for me and my family because typically, not always, they are super high quality and work. They have to be for the product to sell.
It's understandable that home business' and MLM companies do well in times like these. People are looking for other ways of making money and it sound like it's a pretty easy way to make money. The challenge most people run into once the ether wears off from their initial exposure to a business is that it is a business! They have no concept of what it takes to run one. I truly believe that people convince themselves and others that if they just sign an application that their mail box will soon be filled with checks. Doesn't work that way. Nothing does, (unless you're a trust fund kid), and that's not what this blog is about.
The reality of a profitable network marketing company is that it takes people to make money. It took 30,000 people to make 500k in 6 months in my most financially successful network marketing company. Break that down and it's approximately sixteen bucks a person to generate that kind of a check. Of course, 50k a week is a pretty big check. Few people know what kind of effort went into building that organization. I was an overnight success in most peoples eyes. Not the case.
I had worked for several YEARS building a team in a nutrition company and when that company failed, timing was perfect and I moved all those people into the new business model. Years. What took 6 months to earn in the new company took 4 years of seminars, books, breakdowns and breakthroughs. Meetings, circles, conference calls, 3-way calls. Warm leads, cold leads, scripts. I learned how to be a network marketer. My checks were over 150k per month.
Sound like work? It is. But what about 4-8 years of college. Books, classes, tests. Tuition and time lost working. To enter a work place that produces financial independence of only 5% at age 65.
My mistake was getting sucked into the excitement of a start up company (only 2 in 5000 make it) and it went bust. I learned from it and won't make that mistake ever, ever, ever, did I say ever?.......again.
That's not to say that it all wasn't worth it because it was. I learned more about people, business and myself during those years than I ever would have doing anything else. It was priceless. What I found is that there are alot of ways to make passive/residual income without having to spend every spare minute creating it. The better and more knowledgable you get in the networking industry the easier it gets = less time spent. It is about quality of life isn't it. Of course it is. Get educated.
Fortunately technology has made it much easier to work from home. One major aspect is you actually can work from home today. Years ago I got sold on 'working from home' only to find that what they really meant was working from other peoples homes. I'd pack up my vitamins, white board and easel and go 'share the dream' in living rooms and dens all over town and across the country. I'd get home from work, kick off the work boots and dirty jeans, put on my JC Penny special blue sport coat (gold buttons) and red tie and go create me some sussess.... Aint it great!
Home based business' come in all shapes and sizes. If you believe you would like to work from home and have what it takes to make it work then you should go for it. There are good companies out there and without a doubt, what one man can do, another man can do. Just don't get blinded by the sales pitch. Do your due-diligence. Understand what it takes to make it. And once you've made up your mind, commit! At least a year.
All companies are not created equal. Find one that leverages systems and time to your advantage and pays well enough for time spent for each sale. It takes as much time, paper and ink to do a million dollar deal as it does to do a hundred dollar deal. Your time is valuable. Expand your thinking. Find a company with an outstanding value proposition. This in itself will do most of the selling for you. And most importantly remember that we are ALL salesmen. We sell ourselves everyday. Mortgage brokers, realtors, business owners. Insurance and car salesman. Employees asking for a deserved raise in pay. The resume's written. The speeding ticket we hope to talk our way out of. It's all sales. Even a baby sells itself when it cries for food and attention.
We are all connected and the world is getting smaller by the second. Take care of yourself. Treat each other with respect. And work on a 'we go' mindset rather than an 'ego' mindset. Hang out with inspiring people and be a contribution to the relationships. Figure out what your passionate about, choose something that fits and get started. When would NOW be a good time to change your life!
